Hagenrode route KR6 Kerkrade

Hagenrode route KR6 Kerkrade

East of Kerkrade is a sheltered, shady area on the German border. On the Hagenrode route, you will find nothing of the mine closures, but instead enjoy the serenity of a green and historic area. For instance, this walking route takes you to the ponds of the forestquet of the medieval abbey Rolduc, you will discover the nine-hundred-year-old Baalbruggermolen windmill and you will enjoy strolling along the meandering stream in the Worm valley.

This route is not signposted, but the route description can be downloaded.

Tip: en route you will pass Abdij Rolduc. Curious about the stories or take a look inside? Take a look at the 360-degree tour. The tour is also accessible by scanning the qr code on the wall sign at the abbey.
