Een eeuw kunst in Kerkrade - Ploum, Ploum, Moonen en Savelsbergh

This exhibition features visual work, in various disciplines, by four Kerkrade artists: Frans Ploum (1903-1975), Piet Moonen (1910-1987), Jan Ploum (1935-1977) and Frans Savelsbergh (1944-2008).

These artists were of great importance to Kerkrade's art climate of the last century. Besides the exhibition, there is a fringe programme with workshops, guided tours, an educational programme for primary schools and a musical-literary evening at the Hub in Kerkrade.

This is the first time in decades that the work of these artists is on display again in Kerkrade. The exhibition is intuitively shaped in a number of themes shared by the artists: religion, landscape, village scenes, models, still lifes and figures and archetypes and in different disciplines: paintings, drawings, installations, sculptures.

The centuries-old cloisters of Rolduc Abbey add an extra dimension to the expressive and emotionally charged art.
